MIX Materials Posted

I’ve posted my demo and slides here. Get ‘em while they’re hot.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t redistibute some of the resources which I used in the actual demo. As I mentioned, I paid $3 for the chalkboard image and unfortunately $3 doesn’t give you a license for redistribution. I recreated a chalkboard image do the best of my abilities, but it’s little marble-y or something. If you want, you can purchase the original image yourself on iStockPhoto.

Also, the DynaPanel that I used is not ready for distribution. I’ve substituted it with Kevin Moore’s Animated Tile Panel, which is also super cool and the precursor to DynaPanel. You can get source for that directly from Kevin.

    Hey, the source is more then “I” could ask for… your presentation was roxin, and I enjoyed it alot. Thanks for a great intro to WPF!

    Robert, I just wanted to say that I enjoyed your talk at MIX06. I also enjoyed the Q&A at the lunch on the last day. You and Filipe are both great presenters and very down to earth folks. Thanks again. Pete

    I too liked your MIX talk… cool stuff. I’m playing with your demo and it works fine on my laptop, but not on my desktop. I thought I had them configured the same, but obviously I’m missing something. I get an “Only file URI is supported.” error message using SplitView. Do you know what is causing this?

    Robert, I was looking forward to use SplitView for my own presentation on WPF and get me through this without getting lost in XAMLPad.
    Unfortunately I couldn’t resist to install the May CTP… is there a chance you recompile it?

    Is the MixData.dll source available or a version compatable with vista beta 2? It’s using an older version of PresentationFramework assembly so I am unable to view the XAML in design mode in MS Expression nor run the app from expression.

    Hi, I enjoyed your MIX session. Didn’t watch it in person (a 14 year old has limited $$), but it Virtual MIX works just as well. Also I was looking to use Split View, but I get a “SplitView has encountered a problem and must close.” message. When I run the VS2005 Debugger I get a “File cannot be found message.”

    Additional information: Could not load file or assembly ‘PresentationFramework, Version=3.0.51116.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35′ or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

    Any resolution yet on either the SplitView or MIXData issues?

    I can get around the SplitView problem by using XAMLPad and Notepad to paste in the snippets. But if I want to walk through this demo (as a tutorial) I’m going to have to fake up my own data at this point because I can’t get MIXData to load. I can see what’s in it via Reflector, but that’s about it.
